Dermalux LED light therapy is a form of LED phototherapy. It uses light at selected wavelengths to support the skin’s natural processes, in a gentle treatment that doesn’t use needles, heat or abrasive exfoliation.
The Dermalux Flex delivers different wavelengths of light — commonly within the blue, red and near-infrared ranges. The program selected for your treatment depends on your individual skin concerns, and is chosen during your consultation or treatment with your clinician.
How is LED different from IPL? LED delivers light at specific, well-tolerated wavelengths and is a comfortable, low-risk treatment option. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) uses broad-spectrum pulses of light to target selected pigment and vascular concerns in the skin. They are different treatments, designed for different purposes, and are not interchangeable. If you’re not sure which is right for you, we can discuss both during a consultation.
LED light therapy may be used on its own or alongside other skin treatments. Individual results vary, and your clinician will help you decide whether LED is suitable for your skin.
LED may support overall skin health and help improve the general appearance and feel of the skin over a course of sessions.
LED may help dull-looking skin appear fresher and more revitalised, particularly when included in a regular skin care routine.
Certain wavelengths of light may be used as part of a skin care approach for blemish-prone skin. LED is not a cure for acne, and we’ll assess suitability during consultation.
LED may help reduce the appearance of visible redness for some people. It is not a treatment or cure for rosacea or other medical skin conditions.
LED is gentle, painless and well tolerated by most people, including those with sensitive skin. Most clients simply find it a relaxing experience.
LED may be used after suitable skin treatments to support the skin as it settles. Your clinician will advise whether it’s appropriate for your treatment.
A standalone Dermalux LED session, with the light program selected to suit your skin concerns.
Add LED light therapy to a suitable skin treatment. LED may be added to selected treatments where clinically appropriate — your clinician will advise during your appointment.
Prices are per session. The number of sessions recommended varies depending on your individual skin concerns, and will be discussed during your consultation. No package pricing is offered for LED at this time.
We discuss your skin concerns and history, and assess whether LED light therapy is suitable for your skin.
You relax comfortably while the Dermalux Flex delivers your selected light program. Treatment is painless, and the light does not produce uncomfortable heat.
There is no downtime required after LED. We’ll provide simple aftercare advice and, if you’d like, discuss an ongoing treatment or skin care plan.
